We did receive the OrganiCup and OrganiWash for free in exchange for our honest review of the product. As always, our opinions are completely honest and based on our personal experience.
I’ll tell you right from the start I love OrganiCup as a company. They are helping fight period poverty, use minimal waste, have a satisfaction guarantee, and overall are just awesome. Honestly, even if their products weren’t a good fit for me, I’d buy it for someone else (and I did). Check out my OrganiCup review and the additional cups I purchased and gave away.
Unboxing OrganiCup
So far, of all of the menstrual cups, we have received or purchased (over 25), OrganiCup has THE BEST packaging. There is absolutely no waste or plastic included. They are the perfect example of how to package sustainable, eco-friendly products. I know this doesn’t seem like a big deal, but they are truly green when it comes to packaging their products.
When you unbox your OrganiCup you will receive:
- Menstrual cup
- Organic cotton drawstring menstrual pouch
- Instructions
If you take a look at the picture above, the instructions are printed on the inside of the packaging. How cool is that? There are no unnecessary items in your box. You only get what you need.
Sidenote: A part of the instructions were ripped by our toddler, because he just can’t help but search for things to destroy, for fun. Oh, the joys of motherhood 🙂
For this OrganiCup review, I used the cup for 3 cycles. The reason I use the cup for 3 cycles is to make sure there is no user error. Although I am used to using menstrual cups and have used several over the years, each brand is slightly different. I want to give each brand a thorough and fair review, so I try to use the menstrual cup for at least 3 cycles.
ORGANICUP REVIEW STATS | SIZES AND MODEL
If you are considering making the switch to the OrganiCup, the sizing guide below will help you find the right fit for you.
The OrganiCup is one of the most versatile menstrual cups on the market because they offer three different sizes. It is one of the few cups that has a size for all flows from the start of your menstrual journey to the end. Based on the reviews, it is one of the best menstrual cups for beginners.
OrganiCup Mini
- Total Cup Length – 2.28″ (58 mm)
- Cup Diameter – 1.45″ (37 mm)
- Cup Length – 1.73″ (44 mm)
- Stem Length – 0.55″ (14 mm)
- Capacity to Rim – 17 ml
- Cup Firmness – Medium
The OrganiCup Mini is a menstrual cup specifically designed for teens. This size menstrual cup is perfect for menstruators beginning their period journey or who have been blessed with a light flow (lucky).
Although this cup says it is for teens, that doesn’t mean it is the right cup for your teenager. Remember, find the best menstrual cup for you is dependent on your cervix position, flow, and activity level. If their flow is on the heavier side, like our niece (we got her the small), you may need to move up to the small size for the larger capacity. The additional 8 ml will give your young menstruator more time.
Donating OrganiCups
As part of our effort to help provide sustainable, eco-friendly menstrual cups to underprivileged communities, we purchased 10 of these menstrual cups for donation. We donated the cups to an organization that helps provide feminine hygiene products to young menstruators between the ages of 10 and 18.

OrganiCup Size A
- Total Cup Length – 2.55″ (65 mm)
- Cup Diameter – 1.57″ (40 mm)
- Cup Length – 1.96″ (50 mm)
- Stem Length – 0.59″ (15 mm)
- Capacity to Rim – 25 ml
- Cup Firmness – Medium
The OrganiCup Size A is recommended for menstruators with a light to medium flow, low cervix, and have not given birth vaginally. Although this is the recommendation, that doesn’t mean all of these factors apply to you. If you gave birth via cesarean section, you may still be able to use a small, the other factors fit your body and flow.
If you have a low cervix, have not given birth vaginally, and have a heavy flow, you can use this size. Remember, you may need to empty the cup more often, but having a heavy flow doesn’t mean this isn’t the right size for you. If you believe size A may be the perfect fit, try it, and if you need to move to a larger size, you can exchange it, no questions asked.
OrganiCup Size B
- Total Cup Length – 2.75″ (70 mm)
- Cup Diameter – 1.77″ (45 mm)
- Cup Length – 2.16″ (55 mm)
- Stem Length – 0.59″ (15 mm)
- Capacity to Rim – 30 ml
- Cup Firmness – Medium
For this review, I used the OrganiCup Size B because I the honor of spending 36 hours and 42 minutes in labor and popping out a 6-pound baby. So, this menstrual cup size is recommended for menstruators who have given birth vaginally, have a medium to high cervix, and medium to heavy flow.
The same concept applies as above if you have a lighter flow, but high cervix, you will need a longer cup to make it easier to remove and empty the cup. This will mean that you may be able to wear it longer, so instead of 8 hours, you can wear it for 12 hours. On my lighter days (usually the last day), I can wear a small, but I wore the large on cycle #1 for 12 hours, and it was only 1/4 full.
Accessories
If you are looking for a menstrual cup wash or something to clean your menstrual cup on the go, OrganiCup offers menstrual cup cleaner and travel-size cleaning wipes. I boil my menstrual cups after each cycle, but I clean the menstrual cup with OrganiWash before each cycle as well. It may be overkill, but I want to be sure the menstrual cup is sterilized and clean. Plus, it helps prevent menstrual cup stains.
OrganiWash
You may be wondering, do I need to buy menstrual cup wash for my cup? The short answer is yes. You should never use regular soap to clean your menstrual cup. To find out more about why we have an article on the best menstrual cup cleaner that’ll explain everything.
OrganiWash is organic, vegan-certified, perfume-free, and allergy certified, which means its great for those with the most sensitive skin (which includes me). I have very sensitive skin, so much so that I can only use a specific brand of soap, or I’ll break out in a rash. Luckily, my hands aren’t as sensitive, so I can use different soap to wash my hands. To my surprise, I was able to use this menstrual cup cleaner without any problems.
OrganiWipes
If you are a heavy bleeder and need to change your menstrual cup more often, then OrganiWipes is perfect for you. It’s like having a small bottle of menstrual cup cleaner in your pocket. The packaging is so discreet it looks like a typical hand wipe. You can take them for a night out, traveling, or in the public restroom.
You can use toilet paper you wipe the inside of your cup; not everyone is comfortable just using toilet paper. These travel wipes are also organic, cotton, and perfume-free, like their other products.
ORGANICUP: PROS AND CONS
I always like to include the pros and cons section in our menstrual cup reviews because it gives a quick review of what I did or did not like about a specific item. It’s annoying when “influencers”, give the impression that a product is perfect because they want to make money. That’s not what we do here. Our reviews are honest, we tell it like it is.
The OrganiCup is made of 100% medical-grade silicone, which means it is safe to use internally and is durable. This cup can last you for years if cared for properly. You’ll notice the only color option is clear because they do not include additional additives to change the color.
OrganiCup: Pros
- Organic – There are no additional additives or materials added to their cup, menstrual cup wash, or travel wipes.
- Customer Service – I have to commend this company on their customer service. When I sent an email with a question, I received a response in less than 24 hours. Plus, the reply wasn’t just a cookie-cutter automated response to get rid of me. I felt like they were genuinely trying to help and answer my questions.
- Satisfaction Guarantee – You can try this menstrual cup risk-free with their satisfaction guarantee. It can get expensive to try your Goldilocks cup, so this makes it easier and less expensive.
- Sizes Available – There are 3 sizes to fit menstruators from beginner to expert.
- Free International Shipping – This may be the saver in me, but I don’t like paying for shipping. They offer free shipping to most countries around the world.
OrganiCup: Cons
- Lack of Colors – This is a personal preference, but I’m not a fan of clear menstrual cups. It just seems like they stain easier, but again that’s just me. (They do not add colors or additional additives to keep the material as organic as possible, which is understandable.)
- Higher Capacity Cup – I’d love for them to come out with another size cup for menstruators with a very heavy flow. We hear stories of menstruators who suffer from endometriosis and have brutal periods. If they had a higher capacity of 40 to 45 ml, that would make them damn near perfect.
Who should use the OrganiCup?
I highly recommend the OrganiCup for teens starting their period journey. This is the perfect menstrual cup for learning their body, flow, and how to insert/remove a cup. It’ll help them learn and understand their likes and dislikes when it comes to menstrual cups. From there, they can make adjustments in firmness, length, or capacity. Plus, it’s risk-free thanks to the satisfaction guarantee.
I think experienced cup users will really love this menstrual cup. If you are trying to move towards a more zero-waste lifestyle than OrganiCup is the perfect brand for you. Everything they do is done with the environment in mind.
Organicup OVERALL EXPERIENCE
Cycle #1
My first cycle with OrganiCup was so easy. I popped it in (Size B) and was able to wear it for 12 hours on my first day, 8 hours on the second day, 8 hours on the third day, and 12 hours on the fourth day. As you can see, the second and third day of my cycle is heavier than the first and last day. I always wear backup protection, just in case there is a leak, but I had nothing to worry about this cycle.
The grips at the bottom of the cup made it easy for me to break the seal to remove. To break the seal, I like to find the bottom of the cup, squeeze the grips to release the seal, and slowly remove, while continuing to squeeze slightly.
Cycle #2
Honestly, my second cycle with the OrganiCup is somewhat of a blur. We were in the middle of moving from Colorado Springs, CO to Cleveland, OH, and I was busy. I do remember that I had to empty it more than usual, maybe because I was stressed out, my flow was heavier than usual. Instead of being able to wear it 8 to 12 hours, I had to empty it closer 6 8 to 8 hours on my second and third day. Besides having to empty the cup more often, this cycle was uneventful. Insertion and removal was a breeze, and there were no leaks.
Cycle #3
The third cycle with OrganiCup didn’t go well for me. My period started in the middle of a six-state road trip, in late July, through the southeast US. I say all of that to say I just wasn’t in the mood to be on my period (started 3 days early).
It was too hot, humid, tiring, and annoying. My attitude had nothing to do with the menstrual cup; I was irritated that my uterus couldn’t wait to have a temper tantrum until I was in a better mood lol.
So, maybe the third cycle wasn’t the best time to try this cup for this review, because I was just annoyed I will blame it on the hormones lol. For some reason, I couldn’t get the cup positioned right. I know this was entirely my fault, given I was over my period because it was just too hot (low 100s).
I used my usual fold (punch-down) to insert the menstrual cup into my vagina, but it just wouldn’t open and seal properly. Since I have been doing this for a while, I can feel when a cup isn’t in the right position. I believe I wasn’t twisting it enough, so it would pop open and create the right seal. Although this cycle wasn’t great, luckily, I didn’t have any embarrassing leaks, as I’ve had before with the FemmyCycle.
Satisfaction Guarantee
OrganiCup is another company that offers a satisfaction guarantee. Since it usually takes 3 cycles to get how to insert and remove a menstrual cup, they offer a 90-day satisfaction guarantee. You can try your cup for 90 days, and if you are not satisfied for any reason, you can return or exchange your OrganiCup for up to one year after the purchase date. This makes trying the OrganiCup virtually risk-free. Honestly, I don’t know why you wouldn’t try it if you have nothing to lose.
Global Impact
I love partnering with companies that give back to underserved communities. They have several partners around the world to help fight period poverty. To date, they have donated more than 10,000 menstrual cups, with 25 different partners, in 15 countries around the world.
Now that’s doing your part, and you can help as well. With every purchase, they can continue fighting period poverty, providing menstrual cycle education, and changing the negative stigma associated with periods.
